Angling

At Pine Trees Lodge we offer expert and local advice, guiding services for river or lake fishing. We also provide expert salmon fishing holidays in Co Mayo. There is an abundance of fisheries in the Foxford area to suit all methods; Fly, Bait, Spinning etc. and will suit all budgets. Tiernan Brothers, our local tackle shop can supply you with all your needs from tackle to bait. We can organize your complete fishing trip package here at the Lodge.

Activities

For non-angling days or for non-anglers the area has an abundance of attractions. There is a large area of ancient forestry around the Pontoon area with plentiful flora and fauna along the lakeshores. There are also several bays with parking, picnic facilities and forest walks. The Foxford Way walking route is 86km long with the Ox Mountains to one side and Nephin on the other. It is one of Mayo's finest walks. Foxford Walking Festival takes place every October. Other amenities and attractions are in the angling town of Foxford, which is ideally located to cater for angling needs and tourists. Foxford has pubs with traditional music, tackle shops, art displays and tours of the Woollen Mill. Castlebar has a lot to offer with its arts centre, theatres, cinemas, shopping, ten-pin bowling, night-clubs and live music. Best known of all to anglers is Ballina situated near the mouth of the famous River Moy, with the annual Salmon Fishing Festival, which goes on for a week full of arts events and street entertainment. Throughout the year there's no shortage of live music and dining to suit all palettes in Ballina.
